About this project

NBC News' Data Graphics team has been tracking gas prices for the past few months as energy prices have skyrocketed due to the war in Iran. As we were considering how to advance the story with talks of an MOU and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, I pitched the idea of a "you got screwed" calculator that shows the price differential between February 28 and today. I built the calculator in HTML and CSS and used Javascript for data input and caculations.
