About this project
I was selected to be a member of the Education Writers Association's 21st class of reporting fellows. My project was to identify interventions that help Black men pursue college degrees and gradaute. I visited three colleges (Delaware State University, Morgan State Univeristy and Sacramento State University) to learn about some of the work they're doing to create a sense of belonging. I also spoke with over a dozen students, staff and researchers to learn more about the challenges facing Black youth as they consider postsecondary education and how colleges can better support them.
